A Note About Cleansing Ingredients
Because body wash is designed to cleanse, it must include ingredients that help lift away oil, sweat, and daily buildup. In our formula, ingredients such as Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate help create a gentle, sulfate-free cleansing system.
These names may sound complicated, but they are commonly used in modern bath and body products because they cleanse effectively while still feeling mild and pleasant on the skin.
A Note About Preservation and Stability
Because our body washes contain water, goat milk, nourishing oils, and other skin-loving ingredients, they require preservation and stabilization ingredients to remain safe and effective. Ingredients such as Preservative, Xanthan Gum, Polyquaternium-10, and Disodium EDTA help keep the formula stable, consistent, and protected throughout its shelf life.
Without appropriate preservation, water-based products can become vulnerable to bacteria, mold, and yeast. These stabilizing ingredients are included in small, functional amounts to help ensure your body wash remains safe, smooth, and enjoyable to use.
A Few Ingredients With Unusual Names
Some of our body wash ingredients have scientific names that may sound intimidating, but they each serve a practical purpose in helping create a gentle, stable, and luxurious product.
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine: A mild cleanser originally developed from coconut-derived fatty acids. It helps create foam and makes the overall cleansing system feel gentler.
- Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate: A sulfate-free cleanser made using coconut-derived fatty acids. It helps create a creamy lather and is often chosen for gentle cleansing products.
- BTMS-25: A conditioning ingredient used in small amounts to improve softness, slip, and the overall feel of the product.
- Glycol Distearate: A texture-enhancing ingredient that gives body wash a pearly, creamy look and feel.
- Polyquaternium-10: A conditioning ingredient that helps the skin feel smoother after rinsing.
- Disodium EDTA: A stabilizing ingredient that helps the product perform better and stay consistent, especially when used with hard water.
A Note About Processing and Modern Cosmetic Ingredients
Some ingredients in our body washes begin with plant-derived materials such as coconut oil, glucose, or vegetable-based fatty acids, then undergo processing so they can perform specific jobs in a finished skincare product.
For example, ingredients like Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate are not simply raw coconut oil poured into a bottle. They are refined cleansing ingredients designed to help create a body wash that foams, rinses cleanly, and feels gentle on the skin.
We believe in transparency. Some of our ingredients are traditional and familiar, such as goat milk, beef tallow, glycerin, and coconut oil. Others are modern cosmetic ingredients chosen because they help the product cleanse well, feel lovely, remain stable, and stay safe throughout its shelf life.
Why Do Some Ingredients Have Such Complicated Names?
Chemical names are designed to describe the structure of ingredients, not how friendly they sound. Many familiar substances have scientific names that seem intimidating at first glance. For example, water is technically called dihydrogen monoxide, table salt is sodium chloride, and Vitamin C is ascorbic acid.
We believe in being transparent about what goes into our products and are always happy to answer questions about any ingredient we use. And if Rowan or I don't know the answer, then WE'LL FIND OUT and get back to you ASAP!
A Note About Skin Sensitivity
If you personally know of any ingredient in our body washes that does not serve your skin specifically, we encourage you not to use our body washes.
And please let us know. We are 100% always looking to improve our products and the value of our service to you!
We hope you have found this information useful and look forward to helping you more fully Immerse Yourself in Your Spell!
