What's a Cobweb Broom?
A cobweb broom is a thin, lightweight broom for gently helping spiders on their way to their next home and cleaning up the space afterward. :)
The Purpose of this Class
The purpose of this class is to teach you bare minimum broom-weaving skill. Because we leave the sticks unfinished, we can keep your cost low and charge only for our time and the simplest of supplies. You'll go home with a list of where to get your own broom making supplies, and you'll be able to make as many of these brooms as you like for the rest of your life.
Why this Class is Ideal for Beginners and Busy People
This class is perfect for beginners and busy people because it requires minimal wrist strength, lasts for only one class period, and it helps you get the weaving part down pat! Once you know how to weave, you can throw together a cobweb broom in under a half hour and delight anyone you give it to.
Requirements
No requirements! These brooms are the simplest to make and require only minimal wrist strength.
What's Provided?
Broomsticks and all supplies needed will be provided in this two-hour class.
What Happens in the Class?
First I'll demonstrate how to weave a cobweb broom and then I'll coach you through weaving your own. Afterward, we'll stitch the fibers together so they'll stay put.
Details:
- Bring a water bottle.
- Wear pants and bring a second pair to change into afterward if you'd like to go home with dry knees.
- Long-sleeve t-shirt is best to work in if you have sensitive skin.
- Let us know if you're okay with having your picture taken and if it's okay for us to use it when we advertise our classes.
- Please let us know if you have any questions about anything at all!
Once you make your purchase, we'll send you the Orem address. Classes are fully refundable if we're given 72 hours notice before class time. They are also transferable. You can send someone in your place and we'll be happy to have them.
We are thrilled to share our love of traditional broom making with you!
