"Ruslan" is the name this broom let me know he wants to be called.

Ruslan is a Russian name (Русла́нъ). His name comes from the famous poem Ruslán i Lyudmíla (Русла́н и Людми́ла) by Russia's most famous author of all time, Alexander Pushkin. Published in 1820, this poem was written as an epic fairy tale telling the story of the abduction of Ludmila, the daughter of Prince Vladimir of the Kievan Rus' (reigned 980–1015), by an evil wizard, and the attempt by the brave knight Ruslan to find and rescue her.

Ruslan is one-of-a-kind. Once he is ordered, this listing will be removed. Hopefully we will have Lyudmila available before he goes! We'll see of some lovely young-lady broom will step forward for that name. We'll keep you posted.

Ruslan is a 52" Elm broom. His name beautifully fits the archetype of his wood because Orpheus in Greek Mythology similarly sought to rescue Eurydice from the Underworld by enchanting everyone there with his harp music. After rescuing her, he played her a love song at which spot the first stand of Elm trees sprung up.

In addition to Orpheus, Elm is associated with the gods Odin, Hoenin, and Lodr.

In Celtic myth, Elm is known to have a special relationship with elves.

Elm is the Arbitrator that listens without judgment and is related to the planets Mercury and Saturn. It is associated with the element of Water.
